(NEW! Modified custom keybind R3.1c by m8f) ModDB - http://www.moddb.com/games/doom-ii/addo ... ltimate-r3

IMPORTANT:
Remember to bind a key to slomo in the options menu! You'll find it in "customize controls".
NEW IN 3.1c - The "Toggle Slomo 2" replaces the old keybind that does not conflict with mods like Hideous Destructor or any other that also happen to be using Weapon State 4 in their control bindings. No more keybinding conflicts woo!

Also, visit the options and discover the full customization options of Slomo Ultimate:

Image

This addon is incredibly customizable! You can configure the slomo to be far more than what the default setting allows.
Experiment with the values to achieve different types of slomo!

Hints:
  • Set interval to 0 and duration to 9999999 = total time freeze!
  • Set interval to 1 and duration to 3 = regular smooth slomo!
  • Set interval to 10 and duration to 50 = staggered freezes with pauses!
  • Set freezeplayer momentum on = jump, slomo on, hover midair, rain fire, slomo off, continue where you were flying!
  • Remember that 35 ticks is 1 second real time. Setting the cooldown readout division factor to 35 will give you the time left in seconds!
  • Setting point recharge rate or point drain delay to 35 makes your slomo points be equivalent to real life time seconds!

Changelog:
6.6.2018 - Version R3.1c - fixed minor issue with activating slomo by pressing key too fast not registering activation. (Thanks m8f for catching this bug)
18.05.2018 - Release 3.1b: Fixed oversight, thanks to Silentdarkness12 catching this one.
18.05.2018 - Release 3.1: Thanks to m8f, a custom keybind version is now available. Use the "Toggle Slomo 2" in Customize Controls options menu instead of the old original "Toggle Slomo" one if you want to play with mods like Hideous Destructor or others that conflicted with this mod in the past.
15.07.2017 - Release 3.0: Upgraded to ULTIMATE EDITION. Now with more options than ever, sound and music works perfectly and tons of new features.
This is finally the real deal!
26.06.2017 - Release 2.1: Added the option to freeze player movement while time is frozen. Jump up high, freeze time, hover mid-air and rain death from above!
26.06.2017 - Release 2: More customization options! Cooldown, point recharge speed and improved menu. Defaults set to freeze mode for enjoyable experience.

Special Thanks also go to Blue Shadow and Kinsie for solving the issue with choppy sounds.
Thank you to m8f for creating version 3.1 that added custom keybinds!
Thank you Apaul27 for notifying about outdated screenshot links.

The mod has evolved a lot and I'm very proud of how it turned out. This is finally the real deal. True Slomo in Doom!

Thank you and enjoy!

This. This right here is fucking amazing.

Is there a chance to add some sort of reverb during slo-mo too? That would crank the slo-mo feel up to eleven.

Combine it with projectile/tracer enemies and you can have a hell of a time. The only problem for me is the choppiness of the sound cuts kind of messing with me if I use it for too long.

Excellent mod, tested this with my mod and it works flawlessly.

If this is possible, that would make choppy sounds much less annoying.

I too find the choppy sound annoying, but my limited knowledge of zdoom modding has me clueless what possibilities I could try.

The only main idea I've come up with so far is to temporarily mute sound and music while slomo is on, but I don't know what functions or methods I could use to make that happen. If anyone has a clue they could offer me, I'd greatly appreciate it. I want this fixed as much as everyone else.

I need some help to figure this out. :|

ACS friend.

This should help, or at least set you in the right direction.

It would be nice to mute all sounds but play a droning slow mo feeling ambient noise throughout the duration of slow mo.

Thank you, it certainly is a start. :D

SetMusic would have the issue of resetting the track everytime I'd use slomo, so thats not ideal, however I did find https://zdoom.org/wiki/SetMusicVolume, which will allow me to control the music volume. I'm not out of the woods yet, these problems still exist:

1. How do I get the existing value for music volume?
(It would suck if the user had set music vol to 0.4, only to have it forced to 1.0 volume each time slomo is turned on.)

2. How do I control the volume of sounds?
(https://zdoom.org/wiki/SoundVolume only allows control of a single actor's sound, and only on one channel at a time. I need global sound muting of some sort.)

3. How do I get the existing value for sound effects volume?
(Similar to issue #1, but this time for sound effects.)

I looked through the https://zdoom.org/wiki/Category:ACS_Sound_functions, but I didn't find answer there to the above issues. :(

I like this idea.

To make it happen, I need a subtle looping sound that would fit the slomo effect. If anyone has one, toss one over to me. I'll appreciate and give credit for the effort.

In YouTube there are several samples of it, I think one of these two would fit way cool:

A very really nice addon, by the way! :thumb:

Might need recharge speed options to keep it from being OP.
Otherwise, neat.

Pretty neat. Will you make it so that when you are in bullet-time, the bullets become projectiles instead of normal bullets?

Thank you! These certainly helped me narrow down what I need. I found a bunch of sounds and will be trying to figure out how to set the system up.
That said, I first need to figure out how to mute sounds and music with ACS or other methods, otherwise this feature can't be added yet.

Good idea, I went and implemented this today. Next update will have an option for setting up a Cooldown as well as changing how fast the points regenerate. Needs a bit more playtesting, but its almost done.

I'm relying on other gameplay mods doing that natively. Unfortunately this means trying to do it within this universal addon itself is not an option.
