Beta 2 released. See the changelog for details.

You do not need to download the resource package again unless explicitly stated in the changelog -- the data files alone will suffice.

(Ninja edit: missed the titlemap. Fixed.)

It's been a while, but damn I'm loving the improvements to the director thing. (I recommend playing this with no monsters on, other than those Map07 kinda maps (the ones that trigger stuff with mancs and arachnos dying)

On a side note, what does Skirmish mode do, in the game mode thing? (I got the feeling Left 4 Dead triggers infected pouring in.)

Skirmish is something I meant to remove but forgot. That'll be taken care of in the next version. It was an idea planned for something but it's been put on hold until DBT comes back.

Based upon recent contact, it appears DBThanatos is no longer partaking in the mod's development and direction at all.

Farewell DBT. It was a fun for the past decade we spent together. If you want to come back, you'll always be welcome. Otherwise, I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors, and God speed.

As for the mod, it's not dead, but it is temporarily on hiatus while I finish working on the next big update for D4D.

I just tossed up a hotfix, completely forgot that the menu in AEoD was also going to be affected by some of the most recent changes. You can access the aeod menu again now.

I am currently running gzdoom using one of the newest svn's. It seems to run fine on the latest version of zdoom.

You're using an outdated version. You need to use the AEoD beta. It's on the front page.

6.66 Alpha 3 released. Mainly aimed at stability and speeding up gameplay during hairy slaughterfest moments, plus some special effects improvements. It's not all that much but it's a start, and it's significant enough to warrant another alpha.

Why did I stop using 6.07? Because I felt like now's probably a good time, and a clear notice, that my interest in AEoD is slowly picking up again. I have a bit of extra time thanks to labor day but not much. That's why I'm updating it now.

You need GZDoom 3.2.x to play it, if not a devbuild.

Some reports: game's death message for infected says "couldn't keep infected off HE self" and Left 4 Dead mode doesn't remove monsters like it used to.

Because some functionality to fix certain bugs is required from the devbuilds.

I wanted to re install this mod after many years but the new version says it requires gzdoom 3.2? the link on the download page for zdoom only goes up to 3.1.....is this new version not stable or something? and where would I even get it?

There isn't a 3.2 (yet). GZDoom 3.1.0 is latest stable release. What the OP is referring to is a development build most likely.
