Hey, an excellent upgrade for the classic Wolfenstein. It would be great to play with the ceilings and the floors separately from the rest of the mod. Simply, in many classic mods compatible with ecwolf there are no textured ceilings and floors ..

Hi everybody, I think there's something I'm missing: my computer has Windows 8 x64, if I download file wolfcu_beta2.zip from the first post, there are two files present.

What software have I to download to play the beta?

Wolfenstein Cosmetic Upgrade has gotten a massive update with a new palette, heavily retouched graphics, and LZWolf features. Not only that, but it has a remastered version of my recent collab with Thomas Weiling, Discipline, featuring plane 3 flats and per-tile lighting never before seen in the Wolfenstein engine. You won't believe your eyes! Check page 1 for the download. Merry Christmas!

This is really nicely done - a major upgrade, yet still quite faithful to how the game is meant to feel. Perhaps it could even be considered as "Wolfenstein, the way it was meant to be"? It's much more like a moody castle prison.

Is there any way for a more minimal HUD to exist?

Personally I'd like something between this:

(Marble border takes up quite a lot of space.)

and this:

(No HUD at all.)

Or is that something engine-side rather than mod side?

Unfortunately not, because ECWolf and LZWolf currently lack anything like SBARINFO. The best you get is a file called LATCHCFG that lets you move around images and numbers on the status bar, but not alter the size of the status bar, the font, etc.

ehi woolie, great mod - it's my goto way of playin Wolf3D since the days of the V1 beta release

recently I discovered that LZwolf development has been discontinued (the author confirmed it on the wolf3d.net discord)
meanwhile, ECwolf has just received a version bump due to a fix in how level progression is managed (see here)

given the situation with both ports, would you consider switching back to the ECwolf platform?
what are the LZwolf features used by the mod that would prevent the switch?

thank you
