Re: Doom: Lost Alpha
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see anything resembling original alphas in first batch of screenshots. I don't remember there being any slopes, for one thing. Detailing almost compares to KDiZD. If the aim is to make them look like the originals, maybe add more contrast and reduce detailing?
But your modern take of alpha levels looks nice too, and I don't remember seeing too much of those. I think Evil Unleashed had some zdoomism's thrown there too.

At these levels, nothing close similarities with KDIZD, in my opinion. And what's wrong with a little use of features that allows you to make ZDOOM?

Oh don't get me wrong, I like what I see (especially gameplay video).Serious_MOod wrote:At these levels, nothing close similarities with KDIZD, in my opinion. And what's wrong with a little use of features that allows you to make ZDOOM?
I just thought your level(s?) in first screenshots didn't look very much like the mapping style in actual Doom alphas, and I've got the impression that's what you're aiming for.

I work with another project, and therefore does not work with L.A. yet. But I will come back to it.ThrashfanBert1994 wrote:hows the recent updates going so far? i cant wait to play it

I like how oppressive and desolate it looks! It really give the feel that something's gone horribly wrong.

Re: Doom: Lost Alpha
Is there anyone who knows how to create maps well and is generally passionate about the alpha theme?

Are not you busy with developing the EU? And I would not say that you will suit me as a mapper, I'm sorry, too different styles.demo_the_man wrote:I could lend a hand
Re: Doom: Lost Alpha
This looks good, will there be an option of playing this with psx music/ambience?
