This mod is not dead, just was asleep in stasis. Version 1.6 is out now.

I'm on the fence about using this mod. Theres Smooth Doom that includes random deaths, so I'm wondering if the ones in this mod are the same ones as in Smooth Doom? Or does this mod have even more death variants?

It does use some but I didn't use the purely smooth ones, I cut out some frames so they weren't fluid to give it a more old school look to match the existing id death sequences. That and most have a mirrored death variant as well.

Alright, so that means there are more death anims in this packge than in Smooth Doom. It may have more since I picked the more reasonable deaths from various Brutal Doom releases, so those w/ Smooth Doom unsmoothed plus mirrored means a lot of different death sequences. That and the SS Nazi makeover from the 1.5x releases.

Italian translation is good,but could be improve.

I opened up the zip but noticed there were two files:

Z stands for Zandronum. Not sure if for old Zandro or 3.0 or both.

Yea, the "Z" version is for Zandronum because some functions implemented in GZDoom/ZDoom do not exist in Zandronum. I have tested earlier versions of RDND with pre v3.0, such as the release or two before. Mainly some very minor edits to some decorative actors and the "fast" flag on one or two enemies' moving animation.
If Zandronum was up to date on these things, I would not have to have two different archives.

Just to clarify things, I am not going to convert this to ZScript mainly for backwards compatibility.

An update to say that there is no need to use the RDND##Z versions anymore if you get the official version of Zandronum 3.0, which runs fine with the RDND## file without bombing out with DECORATE errors.
There is some inter-episode text rewritten, namely episode 1 and 2 for Doom in this version but I still need to do 3, 4 and Doom 2's.
