Just a weapons mod I made for Doom with plants from Plants vs Zombies, not sure if I should continue adding plants or not.

Plants so far:

Spoiler:

Ingame Demonstration:

Note: The chomper isn't a silent weapon, I used notarget for effect.

You can get the file here:

Since it uses 3D models, an OpenGL source port is necessary to enjoy the mod. I recommend GZDoom, of course.

Maybe its just me but I really hate the position the weapons are on the screen.

On a side note, I think those weapons look adorable. Perhaps you will make this into a tc?

Things such as this remind me when I think I've seen everything in Doom, I'm wrong.

If it exists, you can make a Doom mod of it. It's like a twisted version of the porn rule.

you're gonna have a big success if you make a real game styles that almost looks like a plents vs zombies.

If you mean using the Doom mod, I have no interest in that. I don't want to copy Plants vs Zombies' style, this is more of a hybrid of it and Doom.

I think is better you rethink your opinion, if you do something in the style of Zwars you get a good audience, and it is obvious that there will be servers. Do not want to criticize in a negative way, the "weapons" are amazing, but I doubt anyone use these "weapons" to finalize some wad. I hope to see tc about it.

Well, the reason I'm treading lightly is this isn't my content. I made the models, but Plants vs Zombies belongs to Popcap.

i'm not imposing to make it real happen, but i hope you're know about 'fan-made' or 'cross-over'. and least you just gave credits for Popcap staffs.

Not only do I give Popcap credit but, in the video description, I give links to Plants vs Zombies on Google Play, the App Store, and Steam. My reasoning is that it's free advertising. If I start copying the gameplay style, it'll look more like I'm trying to rob Popcap of their profits by providing a 'free version' which isn't my intention.

just look at MegaPhilX for a Example(http://megaphilx.com/?page_id=26).

he started to make his 'own' Megaman game with his friends and cooperative workers. and it's gameplay was really same as original megaman, so did you think he release that game without any credits or because of wanted moneys? Nope, they never wanted moneys or stealing ideas or profits, because they just wanted a Tribute also wanted to make their own megaman fan-game. also they are used to be just bunch of megaman fans, but they already made it with getting other gamer's attentions. making a non-profit, non-selling, sharing with gamers and author-tributing own 'fan-game'.

still if you don't get it, here's some picked words about does making of fan game is illegal;

It doesn't matter if your game is not for sale but just sharing.
It doesn't matter if it's just a fangame.
It doesn't matter if the piece is obscure.

discounting a third word, you can make your own plants vs demons mod. also if you made so far with really liked that game so much or telling a original autuor's property, that's not a stealing. that's a tributing between with fan-gamers and original-staffs.

but just don't take it too much serious, and least you tributed for original authors already. again, if your game is not for sale among with credits for author, then you're free to make.

I don't really see the big deal here. Besides, Popcap's already making a team-based third-person shooter out of PvZ...

Yeah, I'm aware of that. Really, the whole purpose of this mod is to give some of the plants to to Doom universe, like Taggart found some seed packets and just rolled with it. That's why it's called Plants vs Demons.

i'm so sorry if i was too much careful and personal, go ahead.
