I got the music from Incompetech, I use the site very liberally for music since it's royalty free music. The 'boo thing' replaces the Blur Sphere. Since he calls himself Ghost, I figured a ghostly powerup for the partial invisibility was fitting.

The animation of the revovler needs some extra work, when you compare it, for example with the cow freezer thing, which looks fine, and even has an idle anim (which is a nice touch, by the way), the revolver just kinda... goes up. No impression of kickback.

What do you suggest I do to it to make it look more like a kickback? I'm looking at the revolver animation for Bioshock and it sort of looks like it's just going up further.

I was merely pointing out that politics controls every aspect of your life, from the price of the food you buy to how free the internet is. Of course, I don't wish to deviate from topic so, if you would, please give me your feedback on my mod.

I registered here just to talk about this mod. And I don't like what I see regarding the discussion of said mod. (FYI, I was a listener of Ghost back in the day.)

Namely, the fact that you're taking the political slant in this thing too seriously. It's a frigging parody! Ghost himself is a staunch republican who is firmly against Obama's policies and leftist administration in general. He believes that the country is being corrupted by welfare leeches and socialist nuttery, and that 'true capitalists' like himself are responsible for keeping America...well, America. That might not make him as insane, as, say, Alex Jones (who is an enemy of Ghost's both IRL and in the mod), but the only reason to include content of this slant in the mod in the first place is to mock it and make a hilarious plot out of it!

That's as may be, but speaking as a moderator, I would really prefer that any political discussions be chiefly about how they relate to the mod, and not politics in general, because I know how heated such discussions can get.

Don't worry, I know what you mean. I just found it rather weird that people (including MetroidJunkie) are talking about a 'deeper political meaning' in a mod about a person (Ghost) with a political persuasion that's frankly pretty far 'out there' (and not to mention a cantankerous attitude) taken to the extreme, no matter how many of his points we may agree with and whether our personal freedoms really are under siege or not. I have a number of suggestions for the mod itself I might get around to posting (or PMing to MetroidJunkie) later on.

You should find more reference material then. Perhaps having the barrel turn up and the gun kick back slightly after firing would work, like in the old mod.

And regarding the relevance of this mod: Yes, it's a niche thing, but I think some of you are underestimating the popularity of Ghost, at least after trolls and remixes started popping up on YouTube. Ghost is still kicking around, even if the likelihood of the show coming back (it ended in 2012, not 2011) is slim at best. He himself might appreciate this mod (and in fact he did on his show once).

And even if someone doesn't understand the mod, he or she might find it amusing anyhow. It's pretty damn surreal, at any rate. I believe the importance of doing what YOU want to do as opposed to doing what others want you to do/what would be popular is relevant in this situation. Besides, everything becomes dated after a while. (Maybe it takes more time with other things, but still).

I do think, however, that you could very well have left the mod at the point where you had higher-res textures, DOOM II intermission text and a custom Icon of Sin. (Fluttershy was genius, but then again so was Alex Jones.) Not that I'm disparaging what you've done beyond that so far, but you really should try and focus more. Unless you've had such things as a money system in mind for a while and you don't have a bunch of other ideas that would slow down development, that is. If I were you I would finish the core gameplay concepts such as plot (don't even think of the pun) and map design first. Unless, again, you've already gotten those out of the way.

I dunno if I could say the same things about MetroidJunkie's Chrischan mod, though, considering that I personally find that whole business to be more repugnant than funny. Maybe if the mod in question (which is supposed to be a mockery) REALLY rips into him I might be okay with it, but it's probably just my personal taste. And as for that mod about shooting politicians? Frankly, it was tasteless and uninteresting. Didn't even bother playing it.

As for the mod itself, I've played some versions of it and have compiled a list of suggestions and fixes here.

I had a basic idea of a plot of him dealing with trolls and government, representing his biggest vices. Mostly, I just haven't been getting to the mod that much since my mind keeps changing to working on other things. I can never seem to focus on one project for very long, maybe it's just a small attention span. Thanks for the suggestions, I guess I really should replace those placeholder images.

Just take your time and don't be afraid of (constructive) criticism. Your basic plot idea sounds good; but I had something in mind that was more along the lines of Ghost fighting ponies. And as for your short attention span? Don't take this personally, but that might basically serve as an excuse for more personal attacks.

I said thanks for the suggestions, did I give you the impression your constructive criticism wasn't appreciated? Also, I intended to still have Ghost fight trolls and things like that but I figured it should take a back seat to fighting against government corruption since that's really what Ghost bases himself on. I was thinking the pony stuff can be more lowly minion level.

I get your point, but I still think he should fight Princess Celestia or something.

I could make a parody of Celestia as a captain of the mooks or something.
