Re: Diaz v3 - Random Public Beta #3.5! [p.13]
The thing is, I disabled heretic/strife support for the moment because I'm rearranging and renaming a lot of the actors, and it got to be a humongous pain to make a change and run the game only to find that ZDoom wouldn't start because my Heretic/Strife spawner definitions were still pointing toward the old names. Since a lot of the point of Version 3 of Diaz is to clean it up internally as well as externally, that's why I'm doing this for the moment.
Heretic/Strife supports will be re-enabled as soon as the Doom stuff is finalized, but feel free to re-enable it yourself in any of my builds and fool around with it. When I get to that portion, there'll be some balance and spawner changes as well, like making the crossbow spawn random weapons instead of always being the shotgun. I hate how many Heretic maps rely on only the crossbow. =P

Somehow, I never found it as egregious as DooM's Shotgun/Shell placements. I usually find enough ammo to favor any weapon (besides the Phoenix Rod, of course), as long as I'm not throwing magic at boss creatures. (Maulotaurs mainly. UGH.)wildweasel wrote:I hate how many Heretic maps rely on only the crossbow. =P

I've never relied on only the crossbow.

I guess I just prefer Heretic's other weapons so much that I always end up with nothing but crossbow ammo, all the time, and it pisses me off. =PBlazingPhoenix wrote:I've never relied on only the crossbow.

Well at least there isn't a Super Crossbow that uses twice the ammo and does triple the damage.
No, the Tome of Power doesn't count.

Is this problem still bothering you? Because I could help fixing it if you could send it to me somehow.I can't seem to get it right...I should probably just find another sound.8: Not much of an issue, but while the new mauser rifle sound is nice, it seems to abruptly stop rather than add a fade off at the end, which feels a bit odd.
I have 8 years of audio editing experience, so I hope I can do something about it
EDIT: looking at the dates of the last posts, this might be an irrelevant question

Re: Diaz v3 - Random Public Beta #3.5! [p.13]
I'd like to clarify that it has been pretty much a profound lack of interest that keeps me from working on this mod. I do have some resources yet to be added to the mod - new voice for the Test Subject, new shotgun, among other things - but pretty much zero desire to add them.
Re: Diaz v3 - Random Public Beta #3.5! [p.13]
That's a shame, I always thought these mods were pretty cool. What was the new shotgun supposed to be? I never really liked the current wooden one. I liked the Hunter shotgun from one of your Diaz mods, it just felt...right... to shoot it, good blend of a satisfying sound, look and power.

And here I was hoping that was an April Fool's post

Catching your breath is never a bad thing. It feels all the fresher when you finally do get back to work.
Hell, that's pretty much the story of Hexercise. A couple months away from editing and I ended up spending the better part of two entire weeks hunched over SLADE3. And I've yet to get tired of it!

I don't think it really matters to WW now since, as he said, he doesn't really wants to work on DIaz anymore.
