I personally dont have problems with aiming my shots. So I wont get rid of "shoot to spawn" method.
Instead I added control of how monsters should be spawned. I added buttons to each monster "preview" room and one new button, near the enter to the arena, which change how monsters are spawned. By default it set to "Shots and buttons", press use on it to change it to "Only buttons", again to "Only shots" and again to goes back to "Shots and buttons".
Weapons and items can be spawned by pressing use on "them". It was always possible, but nor it was obvious nor tooltip did not mention about it, so I also add such clarification.
