Moonblood is a megawad (32 levels) for Doom 2. The Project has started with remastering the levels from my first wad, Eclipse, but the changes became quite big and I decided to turn it into Moonblood (it was initially called Revclipse, then after Reclipse). The levels were most inspired by early Scythe 1 levels, Jenesis, Mano Laikas and DTWID series.

It features:

-> 32 custom levels, mostly small/médium sized maps.
-> Custom soundtrack, made for this mapset. (except map 32)
-> Classic doom gameplay with Boom (-complevel 9) compatibility: No balance changes.
-> 6 episode format.
-> 5 to 10 hours to finish, depending on your pace and difficult chosen.

Its main design focus:

-> Simple and clean visuals.
-> Low monster count. A little to no grinding.
-> Non-linearity.
-> Difficult level a bit above IWADs.
-> Strict to safe ammo management.
-> Gameplay focused on multiple weapons management, target priorization and environment awareness.
-> Not-so obvious progression.

leonardo85 made an awesome playthrough of this on youtube! Here's the link for the first level:

First 4 maps recorded...so good. Very Doom 1-esque. And the music...excellent.

Wait, you changed the original map 32 with another one? I recorded map 32 and I must say, until now is the one that I found "meh"...

Yeah, and that was the reason I've changed it :lol:
I wanted it to be a homage for the very first eclipse series, but it was indeed way too basic for this, so I changed for another level I've released last year but didn't get much atention. The new one is also very different from the rest of the wad thematically.

The others changes aren't really big (maybe except map 9, but still not that relevant)

Finally I finished the megawad. Great megawad. What a surprise for the final boss (took me 3 tries to kill him). I recorded ALL the maps except the new map 32...I played a bit of the new map and it's completely different and much, much better. Also, the music...so great that it gets stuck in your head. 10/10.
For the monsters...REVENANTS, a lot of them, archviles placed in nasty and unexpected places that can caught you by surprise. Great challenge, hard but balanced and with the right amount of monsters. This one is one of my favorites now along with Epic 2. :thumb:

Thank you so much leodoom!

I'm glad you went throught this until the end! Did the final boss worked well? I really didn't want to a Icon of Sin level because I hate them hahaha I'm also really glad that you did like the music. Being a composer means a lot when you do something that works! I wasn't sure if it would work in a game like Doom haha

I've been watching your youtube posts and it has been a great experience to see how things works by other playing except me, and the soundfont is amazing :mrgreen: I can't wait to see the videos for the later levels (imo the stronger ones).

Again, thank you a lot!
