KinsMaps v1 - Diamonds from the DUMP

Download Build 1 - 2 maps

DUMP 3 is never coming out. Term has completely lost interest in it. You already know this.

Rather than let the map I made for it (which I'm still really proud of) go to waste sitting in an unfinished test build forever, I've packaged it together with my DUMP 2 map as a separate download. Sort of like ZPack and Thunderpeak, except not as good and ZPack actually got finished and released.

Current Maps:
KINSMAP - "Lewd" (from DUMP2 - March 2016)
KINSMAP2 - "The Corporate Ladder" (from DUMP3 - June 2016)

The only change to these maps since their completion and submission was that I fixed a small texture name conflict between the two maps.

Ideally, I'll add to this if and when I make new maps. I hope I do that someday, but with the lack of ongoing, motivation-inducing ZDoom-focused community mapping projects going around (since the only one that was happening is no longer being worked on) I can't really say when that'll be. :(

To be honest, I was considering doing this with my map term...

You are taking a long time, and my map I do want to share with the HD crew.

Well no matter the reasons for releasing these maps ... I gotta say I do like these maps a lot. They are pretty awesome to play on. Immense amount of detail and humor put into them, I like the second one especially.

Good map, looks and plays very well! My single map submission for DUMP 3 (which I need to resubmit anyway because now it's three months outdated from my uploaded build) I am thinking of turning into a multi level WAD.

Screw it, I'm doing it.

Sorry term, but I'm a little tired of waiting. Hope you understand.

I'll hesitate releasing to doomworld persay, but I'm going to at least post it for the hideous destructor folks.

That said, if I don't get a life sign on dump in the next few days...welll..yeah

These look great. Thanks for releasing these.

I just played through both maps, map 2 is quite funny and satirical but rather excellent.

Please continue to make awesome maps, that's all.

I'd like to point out most Boom-compat megawads (that's 32 levels) take from anywhere between half a year to several years to get done.
Complaining about a UDMF set of over 80 maps not being done yet is reaaaaaally impatient.

In any case, I hope to see a Kins collection of maps in the future, cause these are just great. Love em!

Good point yholl...silly me for assuming things go to schedule....but you are right, he got an absurd amount of maps.

My main issue is dump not showing any life signs.

To be fair to Kinsie though, both yourself & Terminus (In my opinion) are juggling too many projects at once. I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing.... But it does tend to take ALOT longer then others to get a project completed. I'd think you would agree with me on that.

I am a very patient man, so its really no bother to me. So long as you do not get burnt out from the amount of projects you are taking on and none of them ever get completed / see the light of day.

I had a polite conversation with Termus last night as a result of this thread. I say polite because the first sentence wasn't "DUDE WHAT THE FUCK", which shows an impressive amount of restraint on his part.

The long and short of it seems to be that the big holdup on DUMP 3, outside of the whole project-juggling thing and IRL in general, is that Term can't figure out how to do a good final boss map, ala DUMP 2's. We traded some ideas, so hopefully he'll figure something out.

Term could follow the ID software / doom 2 tradition and have a really lackluster boss fight...
