[WIP] [RELEASE] The Port (abbuw's city map)

I've been posting screenshots of this map on the WIP thread, and I figured that more people would be interested in it, due to the reception I got.

The city map is a fairly large map that my friend CaptJ3 and I have been working on for about 6 months. The map is composed of 17008 linedefs, 32253 sidedefs, 4457 sectors and features about 300 new textures. The map is compatible with Zandronum and GZDoom.

What is the purpose of this city map?
I figured that there are alot of city based maps in Doom, but there aren't really that many that let you go almost everywhere. This map allows you to go almost anywhere you see, no invisible walls or anything of the sorts. This means that you can hop on roofs and stuff. I'm also planning to add interiors to more of the buildings.

When will this be released?
It'll be released RIGHT NOW. Please report any issues to this thread, it'll be very helpful. Keep in mind that this is still a really rough prototype, it's not gonna look pretty in some places, there's incomplete areas and missing textures in various places. Use GZDoom on this map, it's built for it.

Looks great, although the areas outside the buildings could use more props.

There will be some streetlights and other various props once the city is laid out completely.

Which settings are you using for mapping? Doom, Hexen or UDMF formats? I choose "Streets Of Violence" name for this map, while remembering me Half-Life 2 (I see you use some textures from HL1, I think) and GTA: Vice City... :-)

I am using the UDMF map format, it allows for alot of nice stuff. Almost all of the building textures are derived from photographs on CGTextures.

Uhmmm, I had the suspect of this because massive quantities of linedefs etc. etc. Do you need a hand for it?

7 vs 1 rabbit-hunt deathmatch would be incredibly tense.

Is the city map going to be without monsters or have them (in my opinion there are not a lot of Pre-Invasion City themed maps for doom)

This makes me think of gm_bigcity except this actually has rooms and such.

Is this the evolution of Apocalypse Doom?

Seriously though, I like maps that look like actual real-world environments. I'm curious to see more of this.

I still haven't figured out what type of map this is going to be, it will probably be without monsters, but that can always change.

CaptJ3 added this giant hotel to the map, and here it is with some modifications.
