So hi there, for some time now, I've been working on a map pack, slowly but surely.
and now I kinda felt I think I might finally have some guts to post it in here.

Presenting:

Vile Shatters
"Fuck you and your bullshit difficulty"

Vileshatters map pack that's general theme is hellish corruption and varying difficulty, usually on the harder side.
You can be ensured that each map has atleast one archvile. Fact.
So not recommended for the people who have traumas on their laugh.

as final work before credit list, I will say that I am aiming to keep this project more on the map pack side and try watchout not to make it break with some gameplay enchancing mods, like samsara, doomrla, etc.
And I hope these map provide some amusement on their play.

I am glad to know this little pack has sparked intrest.

So in the following time I've been mostly tweaking the monsters presented in the oncoming map(s)
Having lot of balance run between their varying powers and nuinsances, I've managed to make them somewhat stable now.

One of the fun monsters as in the actual bosses of map 06 that will love to follow you around the map have gotten a lot of remake to their abilities and slight puff puff effects on them themselves.

Other two new fellows in this map 06 that might also appear in the future maps are itty bitty creepy sound making little critters I will suspect everyone to outright hate once I get this map out.
They are the ones that I've had to nerf several times now.
Yeah

The more infested and annoying part of the map is almost complete.

Still, thats only 1/3rd of the map 06, but then again its also the most annoying one to effect up, rest oughta get done faster.

Kawaii.

This little spider's ready for action, and you will meet it in the dark sector a few times and more in the future. It has a small chance to drop the night vision goggles for full bright experience (which will make some parts of the map easier)
Generally the map is also gotten a lot of other tweaks too, and honestly, I'm aiming to have it done by the weekend to make it a fun little spider experience available.

Next thing:
The map list is gona get a small rework too.

Frozen Bones is gona take the slot 7, and fear run will jump to slot 9.
Frozen bones is gona be yet another... Agiating case. Doesnt take a genious to figure out what will be that maps monster of the day.

Finally: I am also kinda considering if I should stop making this solo cause mapping is going slooow with my current life situation. But idk about that yet.

The map 06 is finally ready and the whole wad has been finally updated!

In this update:

Map 06! Dark sector (oooh, spooky!) ready for testing!
In which you will meet new foe's:
Spiders!
Kawai spiders!
A boss duet of freezing hatered!

Edit: oops. spiders werent updated in main wad itself. fixing
Edit2: fixed. Spiders now have their creepy voices and all woo

Crazy marine update:
Most dangerous one, aka the rocket marine, now has a crazy laughter.
I have also started to work slowly on some sprites for the marines themselves, keeping em marines ofcourse.
The other marines are still bit ??? in terms of what ill give em on the looks side and sound side.

Feedback would be very appriciated on map 06 right now, specially on balancing; too much ammo? too much healthy? too little ammo? too little health? Too agiating? not agiating enough?
Akward/Wonky looks? Akward mechanic? Anything really that comes to your mind.

Phew phew.

If you talk about the big eyed spider, yeah I made the sprites for it not too long ago by editing parts from mancubi and pain elemental to the little ol arachnotron.
Apart from its attack, the plasma/shock bolt was a rip from some old sega game, I think.

Patch up time!

Map 04:
-Fixed some akwardness and Stuckness introducing spots
Map05:
-Fixed various little things
-Made the maze room have the bullet hell appear only when the maze appears too
-General gained 1100+ more health.
Map06:
-Fixed some monsters getting stuck and ammo placements beign akward
-Fixed few missing textures
-Another minor things here and there.

In another news:

Maps 1 - 3 WILL be remade to smaller and shorter maps
Ill move the old 1 - 3 to 35, 36, 37 respectivly making them only accessable with cheatan one the new maps 1 - 3 are done.

Map 07 frozen bones has 3 new monsters that are coded and one of them waits for custom graphics.
One surprise, One new marine and Shadow Revenant.

Shadow revenant is a lot more aggressive, shoots two homing ice bombs that shatter to homing ice shards either randomly or on contact making for a seriously annoying experience for the unprepared.
Hope you are fast enough to not be drowning in ice shards!

Map 07 progress in other wise is still going on, its still pretty slow but it's definatly gona be fun and frosty~.

yeah.

Finally:
If there are any people intrested, I am planning to open this project up a bit cause honestly I don't know if Im gona be able to fill all the map slots alone. =/
So if there are people intrested in wanting to make maps in this wad let me know! I have plenty of fun monsters to play around with that can be used to make the player miserable.

Hey this is familiar.

Map 01 remakeing has started!
Yaaaayyy. Gona be prettier and might have a crazeh marine.

Frozen Bones progress has been bit slow but slowly getting there too, I'd say about 40% done now.
Still Gotta finish that ice revenant sprite work tho. and get the crazy marines done aswell.

It's a good map set you have there, keep up the good work :)

EDIT : One question, how the hell can we open the secret door giving access to a berserk pack and some rocket boxes in the starting room? Give me a clue pleaaaaaaaaaaase :P

You open it by pressing the similiar looking wall on the hallway just outside.
But you dont have to worry about that cause map 01 has now been remade!
You should meet some familiar looking marines there, luckily they arent the ones packing the most power.
Don't get too close tho!

You oughta see some familiar stuff and some completely new looks on the new map 01.
Old map 01 has been tossed to slot 35.

Other progress: Map 07, frozen bones is now about 70% done!
Now with 80% more fog and 70% more agitation. Hooray!

He's here~

The moment I finally finish the god damn sprite, it ends up losing all its colour somehow and turning bland.
I am currently trying to fix this issue with all sort of tricks

Eitherway:

Map 07 frozen is about 85% complete.
Map 33 Magic has gotten a surprisingly lot of new shenigans in it and has reached complition of about 40 - 50% area.
It will have some new magical imps and more WIZARDS.

And now back to cursing about this silly revenant

I think I shall say: I will recommend using GZdoom from now on so the truecolours will work.
It seems the zdoom hates my colour choices.

Update progress:

Frozen bones is now ready
All it now needs is some testing in terms to get the balance done but unfortunantly I dont really have any testers right now :C

The map magic! is now on full focus, as it is a path way to the frozen bones map I will aim to have it finished before another public release.

Magic! has some fun things in it, full of gimmicks, weird shit, and generally it oughta make you say "I hate wizards"

I am still looking for mappers and appereantly testers too for now.

Progress report:

Magic! has gotten more progress up, I'd say its about 60 - 70% ready now.
I mostly need to tweak the finale area and a section for a key hunt that has annoying little gimmicks in it.

I can promise you, the map Magic! will make you hate wizards.

Map 02 remake has also started.
Yes, there will be a better nukeage labyrinth this time around and yes the first room with the annoying imp + archvile will be put in somewhere.
