[Megawad] No End In Sight

No End In Sight is an Ultimate Doom megawad featuring four episodes of oldschool goodness from Emil Brundage (NaturalTvventy), Xaser Acheron (Xaser), and Chris Lutz (extraneous parentheses!). Explore ruined UAC outposts, derelict shuttles, massive secret laboratories, and the very depths of Hell itself in this exciting mostly-vanilla Doom adventure!

The maps themselves focus on oldschool, non-linear design in a sort of DTWID-ish-but-not-really sort of way. As the project was originally a DTWID off-shoot, a couple of maps may seem familiar to some, though there are a few new tricks hiding up their sleeves... assuming maps have sleeves, of course.

Finally, the first 3 episodes are vanilla-compatible, and most of E4 is as well, sans the maps with asterisks (*) next to them, which are limit-removing. Sometimes ideas get out of hand, and we didn't want to compromise the map vision by cutting these last few maps down to vanilla limits. We think the departure's worth it.

Certainly impressed from the first couple maps. I give you kudos, despite it ostensibly being themed towards the original Doom episodes, for not making the levels have the same basic layouts as the originals.

Well this pleases me much. E1 is done with GREAT satisfaction; no bugs, plain classic fun with top notch balance in everything. It's rare when I don't have something negative to say. I want to insist on the maps design; they're just everything but boring, including nice mazes and the return of the genius. I only miss a berserk pack, here and there...

E2 has begun and my marine takes a rest at level 2: Proving Grounds. This level is AMAZING. The others are all great but this one... BUT, if you're gonna do it with light effects and such, you must show your skill better than this: :o)

I'll be back with a last thought when I finish this E2. Done. I wait for the final release of this one. This is a GREAT project.
