Re: Marble Madness on Doom
Awesome idea (Marble Madness is radik00l), but not much fun with Doom controls.

Haha wow awesome. You should make all the levels, and put a score system on to get people to compete for times!

Re: Marble Madness on Doom
Very simple, yet truly interesting!
A fun fact is that the weird friction in doom makes the player feels like a marble
Good work. More levels should be added

Re: Marble Madness on Doom
That was actually kinda fun. This is definitely an idea worth expanding on, like Cutman and DBT said. Maybe an optional 'marble' player skin...?

Heh, yes, cool.

Re: Marble Madness on Doom
I think the controls would be fine if you just oriented the camera 180 degrees around the player. It's be fine then. This thing has got some potential, and is definently one of the more cooler things I've seen. Nice work!
Re: Marble Madness on Doom
I had no problem with the controls at all. I thought they were intuitive enough.
Re: Marble Madness on Doom
This was fun but really really easy. I'd like to see it developed further.
Re: Marble Madness on Doom
I meant to ask... what does the "floor move on" star do. It's a very long time since I played Marble Madness on the Amiga and I don't remember the details and I can't see it doing anything in this WAD.
Re: Marble Madness on Doom
I think it's going to be for extra time (assuming there will be a time limit). And the only problem with a marble skin that I can see is you won't know which way you'll be facing, so when you press the forward button, you'll end up going in a direction you would never expect.

Re: Marble Madness on Doom
This is fun! Controls were hard at first to get used to, though.
I agree with the idea to extend this project.

Re: Marble Madness on Doom
It's a promising tech demo and I would love to see more. The controls are a bit awkward, though.
A marble skin could work if the you added arrows to skin showing which way the player was facing. It would be kind of goofy but could work very well.

It's always interesting to see people making wads for ZDoom that are un-Doomlike

Maybe this will help.Snarboo wrote:A marble skin could work if the you added arrows to skin showing which way the player was facing. It would be kind of goofy but could work very well.
