messageless screenshots

maybe this is silly but i'm just wondering if there's a way (or a way could be added) to take screenshots without showing text on the screen? i like having the messages but when i'm trying to take a screenshot for a review or something i have to turn them off to guarantee message free shots.

You can also turn off the player weapon too if you feel that gets in the way...

r_drawplayersprites 0

and of course, you'll want to kill the crosshair as well...

crosshair 0

Stick them all in an alias along with the screen shot command, and then restore them after taking the shot and you'll have your own custom clean screenshot key. :)

That is a pickup message. With screenshot_quiet=1, you only remove the "doom0001.png taken"-message away.
If you want to get rid of that chainsaw message, just wait until it disappears.
This behavior will probably not be changed, since (with screenshot_quiet=1) allows to make a "video" (35 PNGs per sec), _including_ pickup messages.
A solution could be screenshot_quiet=2 if that would be implemented.

In the zdoom-username.ini file set
Code: Select allExpand view
show_messages=false

to eliminate, well, the messages.

oh, that's what i meant. an option like this for all messages (or at least all regular pickup messages) and not just the screenshot message. i know about show_messages 0, but i'd like to take message-free shots with that set on.
