Register zdoom? Hahahahaaaa! I think you mean, register WadAuthor. I expect that you can, the guy's name is John Williston and he'd be glad to send you the registered version if you contact him.

Or if you're talking about DOOM (Not ZDoom, which is a free port of Doom), go to idsoftware.com and start shopping. If the price isn't right for ya, look on ebay or in your local computer store for cheap buys.

Well I tried contacting him, It just so happens that I need to Register Doom. So I might sometime be able to buy it straight from ID Software, or I'll look on ebay or the stores.

Umm... Yeah. You can't edit Doom if you only own the shareware. Designing new content (and using said content) is a feature reserved for paying customers.

There is the collector's pack which might be more of use than a single doom2 copy.

Hay, I'm offering to sell you Final Doom (plutonia and TNT) with the original doom 1.666 disks. If your interested, contact me, lets say £5 for the lot, and add postage and packaging, where are you from by the way? I'm offering because I went out and baught the id anthology, so I got all the dooms I'll ever need :-D. Plus, I'm being sreouse about this too :-). The only drawbackis that you'll need to patch up Doom 2 v1.666 to v1.9, but that's dead easy :-). Plus you can use the Plutonia or TNT iwads instead of Doom2, because they basically are doom2 with just differant levels.

What do ya say?

Perhaps..

Postby JangoFett » Sun Oct 19, 2003 1:27 pm

Perhaps. But before I say 'Yes' I have afew questions:

1.) How much would that be in US Money?
2.) I live in Michigan USA.
3.) Can it play Custom IWADs?

I'll have to think it over first. But I'll try to make it quick.

The answer to 3 is yes. Any registered version of Doom grants you access to custom WADs.

The only problem I can see is that TNT/Plutonia might not contain all the graphic resources from DOOM2.wad. Specifically, textures and flats might be missing or different. What that means is that although you could load a WAD designed for Doom 2 into TNT, the level might look different than it was intended to, and some resources might be missing. (And, come to think of it, the music would certainly be different)

Still, that's a very cheap price for what he's offering.

Hrm, that's in UK pounds, right? That would be about $8.30 in US Dollars. After the shipping is added in, you'd be paying a little over $10, I think. Not bad for 3 full games.

They're classics too :-D. I'm pritty damn sure Plutonia and TNT have all the graphics from Doom2. They practically are Doom2, but they have added graphix and new levels (although I prefer Plutonia, TNT get a bit strange after a while, cool concepts and ideas though :-)). Plus there is the original disk version of Doom2 v1.666.

If you accept you just have to send me $10 through the post (for arguments sake, I'll make it $10 tops, not sure what that would convert to in £'s though... but I don't care :-D). Once I get the money I'll send it off to you. If you do accept, email me, it would be best if we finished it off through email. Urm, also, make the money thing a recorded delivery, just so we know it gets to me... I'll do the same over here when I send it, just so I know it gets to you.
