Realm667 down | in case someone wonders...

Postby Tormentor667 » Tue Sep 15, 2020 8:36 am

...we are currently suffering a DDoS attack so the server is unreachable. Someone thinks he is very funny. I unfortunately have currently no idea what to do about it, even the Webhost told me he can't do aynthing about it because the IP of the attacker changes a hundred times each second. If someone has an idea, I'd be happy about it.

Moderator note: Even though this problem is long solved, people kept replying to it as if it were new, bumping this topic unnecessarily. I would not mind a new topic being created to discuss future solutions to this problem, were it to happen again, but I'm not all that enthusiastic about it keep being bumped as if the problem was ongoing, so I've locked the thread, sorry. (And yes, I am editing the first post with this message instead of bumping it, yet again, to reply this very message) -Rachael

Cloudflare, maybe?
https://www.cloudflare.com/ddos/

Coraline uses it on the EDGE site (3dfxdev.net) AFAIK.

Thanks for the suggestion, I can't find any pricing on the wepage though - or am I just blind?

And statements like that give them exactly what they want.

A DDoS attack, eh? If video games have taught us anything, if you're facing enemies you're heading in the right direction.

Anyways, has the problem been fixed at all? It seems like the site is working okay right now.
