Ways and Configs to boost GZdoom's perfomance?

Post by Dalse »

Hello!

I'd like to know if there is other ways of boosting GzDoom's perfomance besides buying a new processor. Like configs , commands , etc.

Is it because I like to play maps with high monster count and sometimes the framerate starts to drop heavily so I want to find out ways to at least soften up this problem a little!

Thanks!

Not really. It sounds like your system is simply too weak to deal with larger maps and this isn't a problem with the renderer but with game performance which isn't something that can be dialled down.

Perhaps a simple EventHandler that properly removes dead actors from the game would help a bit. Means archviles can't resurrect them though.

That won't help one bit. Inert actors are pretty harmless, the event handler will cost more than those corpses.
