[SOLVED] Weird movement while using Final Doomer?

Post by Alexagon »

So I'm having a weird but annoying issue. I started playing JPCP and I wanted to use the Final Doomer weapon pack with it. I noticed however that when I move diagonally,I move much slower than normal. It's really messing with the flow of the game.

I made sure that always run is activated and it still does it. I actually seem to move much slower in general with it off. I also tested it without the weapon mod active and the movement is perfectly normal.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Yholl's mods adjust the speed ratio for strafing, which affects strafe-running in a few ways. It's less noticeable if you play with keyboard movement, but almost debilitating if you play with a gamepad.

I forgot to mention that I am using a gamepad. Ugh. Is there any way to change this at all? Or do I have to just deal with it?

@Alexagon

Open up FinalDoomer_v2.4.pk3 with SLADE or 7Zip/WinRAR,
locate the DECORATE.txt in the root directory,
change Player.Forwardmove and Player.Sidemove from 0.6 1.0 to 1.0 1.0
or get rid of them entirely, because these are the defaults.

I really appreciate the help. I tried to change them and I also tried removing them but it doesn't seem to make much, if any difference in the diagonal movement.

Just to make sure I tested it again without the FD and it feels much better. I also double checked and it did save the changes to the pk3.

Any ideas?

Nevermind. It's working, but it's not retroactively changing it in the save I was using so I have to make a new one.
