Is anyone else having problems with the website/forum today?
Since about midnight (20-ish hours ago), I've been getting random "site not found", "timed out", "502 bad gateway" and "SQL General Error" messages when trying to access the site. Obviously, the fact that I am posting this means it isn't happening all the time, but it's happening fairly frequently.
Other sites are fine.

Well, for me is everything fine here, as aways

It's been fine for the last 24 hours or so for me too now.
Re: Website Problems?
Before you posted that, the site was undergoing security updates.Enjay wrote:Is anyone else having problems with the website/forum today?

Re: Website Problems?
I did wonder if something like that might be the reason. It had the kind of symptoms I've seen elsewhere when sites are updating something. Thanks for the info.

Re: Website Problems?
Maybe the site needs custom error pages which say "don't panic" in big, friendly letters.
Re: Website Problems?
That would've required a DNS redirection which I think we didn't have time to do, since it was the server itself that was being updated.NeuralStunner wrote:Maybe the site needs custom error pages which say "don't panic" in big, friendly letters.
Basically what it comes down to is I attempted to upgrade the site's kernel, but one of the boot processes did not like that, and so I had to ask Randi for help fixing it, and she managed to find the problem and get it to start. So if you saw two downtimes, the first one was my attempt at updating, the second one was her actually succeeding at doing so.
Re: Website Problems?
Glad to hear Randi's still around in some capacity and that you're still in good and regular enough touch for something like that. I hope she's well.
