Hello. Sometimes there are black areas in maps. It's always the same places in the same maps. I'm guessing this is from missing textures. Is there anything that could be done about this? Does it matter what mod/map it is?
I'm new to GZ Doom and what not. Forgive if I have overlooked something "simple."

gzdoom displays white-blue checkerboard in place of missing textures.

Re: Missing Textures
Are you using Doom 1 as a base? Most mods require Doom 2.

Re: Missing Textures
This doesn't look like the textures are actually missing; otherwise they'd appear as checkerboards (as ramon said) and you'd see a mess of console warnings when the map starts. It might be a nodes error, especially if it's an old map that was built using old tools that weren't aware of GL renderers.
Which wad/map is this, and where in the map is this happening (type IDMYPOS and note down the coordinates)?

Re: Missing Textures
Ahhhh..... I think I know what the issue is. I'm playing TNT Revilution w/ Doom 2... I'm guessing I should be using TNT.wad. I formatted last night, and now loading my .ini files does nothing. But to answer the coordinate question, it occurred on several maps on that campaign. Is there a dummies guide anywhere similar to what you would find when you start modding Skyrim? Like load order and comparability?
I appreciate all of your replies guys! Good hunting!

Re: Missing Textures
I'm not convinced that this is an error with the mod(s) at all. It might be a hardware issue, or an issue with the way GZDoom handles the map in question, but to confirm this I need to know which map it is, and where EXACTLY (I.e. Map coordinates) you see the problem at.

Chaosweaver is right enough. It's just that he was using DOOM2.WAD:

Re: Missing Textures
To explain, yes, missing textures will display a checkerboard. However, textures defined in a TEXTUREx lump with missing patches will be displayed as black - because the uncovered parts of these textures will just remain empty.
