Question regarding CCing Derivative Doom Designs.
Question regarding CCing Derivative Doom Designs.
Is it legal to Creative Common an original sprite in which the design itself is derivative? i.g. the Hell-Forged version of the Spider Mastermind. The model and sprites are from scratch, but clearly derivative of the original SM. Or the Hell-Duke (although that oh probably has a lot more leeway).
Re: Question regarding CCing Derivative Doom Designs.
I would say it depends on how transformative it is. Considering most of your modifications only retain the shape of the original monsters, you (for the most part) should be fine.
But if you want to be on the real real safe side, contact Bethesda directly. I've rarely had instances where they wouldn't reply back if I had questions that only they could really answer.

Personally i'd say that's fanart by that point, in which a -NC part of the CC license will have to be required.
I fear Zenimax a lot, so I have to take great strides on not making OA look 'potentially confusing'.

Thanks, I'll contact Bethesda when the sprites are finished.
