Am I seeing thing or did I not set GZDoom right?

recently I watched this


and did a double take, It seems smoother than my normal game play on 60 FPS 1080p, but the weird thing is that my FPS counter shows I'm running it at the same or higher FPS (fluxuates from 200 to 60). Is it possible that my gzdoom is set up improperly or am I seeing things?
