Looking for suggestions of great looking maps

Post by ZippeyKeys12 »

What are some of the best maps visually or atmospherically in your opinion? Preferably not an overly artistic style however, such as Adventures of Square which looks amazing but not what I'm looking for.
So far all I've got(UPDATED):
  • Putrifier
    Comatose
    Valiant
    Ancient Aliens
    Phobos: Anomaly Reborn
    The Darkening Episode 2
    Caverns of Darkness
    Nimrod
    Cold as Hell
    Hi-Tech Hell 2
    Back to Saturn X Episodes 1 & 2
    Hunter's Moon
    The Tei-Tenga incident
    Thunderpeak
It can be for source ports other than GZDoom, appreciate any suggestions.

Valiant and Ancient Aliens have great thematic episodes and visually incredible maps.

It's mostly a matter of taste. I remember I asked this question years ago and got quite interesting mixed responses. In my opinion, Hunter's Moon, and TiberiumSoul's works (The Tei-Tenga incident) has several visually-atmospherically tasty maps, but this is also very true on Batandy's "The Golden Souls" levels :)

How about Thunderpeak? Might be what you're looking for considering the maps you listed.

That would fall under the more artistic style I talked about :)

Sunlust. Deus Vult II also has some nice aesthetics. Can't possibly not mention UAC Vinur Prime Research Base, either, just for its gigantic size. Oh, and ZPack.
