PK3 help

Was keen to try theisland.pk3
Now whereas gzdoom finds wad files OK and lists them for u to select,
It doesn't seem to find pk3 files
So any help with how to play these pk3 files would be appreciated

GZDoom only lists IWADs (the core game data files). It doesn't list PWADs (addons or mods). You should drag-drop the file you want to play onto gzdoom.exe, or use a launcher like ZDL.

Are you talking about Real_Trisk's theisland_full.zip?

If yes, then you have to understand that you are dealing with a zipped file
inside a zipped file,



which does not play out of the box. Instead, unzip theisland_full.zip first
and then theisland_full.pk3 will play properly.

OK Thanks got it a last (not the brightest spark when it comes to gaming)
Minimum requirements seem to be

A folder where gzdoom files reside
and copied to that folder

doom2.wad
theisland_lowtex.pk3 (or the theisland_full.pk3)

Dragging theisland*.pk3 onto gzdoom.exe

Seemingly causes Doom2 to load
but it is actually doom2 modded to the island

When starting to play the game, find switch to the left of the notice about lighting settings then find yourself on island ready to start game.

ps if there are other doom wads in the folder, after dragging theisland*.pk3 onto gzdoom.exe, they will be listed
so just click on DOOM2
