zdoom at 60 fps?

Post by allanwesleybarreto »

I used to play zdoom with a laptop with Windows 10 at the game runned at 60 fps. I didn't use any software to measure, but it looked like 60 fps. Now I have a PC with Windows 8.1 and the game feels like 30 fps. Any solution?

Make sure that vid_vsync is on, and cl_capfps is off.

Ok I found those options and they are as you said, but the game still feels like 30fps.

Check the value of vid_maxfps, and maybe check the actual fps using vid_fps 1

The vid_fps 1 command shows that the game is between 24-30 fps. But when I do the vid_maxfps, it says unknown command.

You definitely need to update your zdoom, then. vid_maxfps has been in since 2013

Sounds like you have a really old version if it can't even find the vid_maxfps command. What version is your ZDoom?
