Pardon me for a bit of a euology, for lack of better term...

My first, albiet crap mod, was for ZDoom, a decade ago.

It's sad to see the engine cease, but in some ways it at least gives us closure and an ability to go forward.

I've been using GZDoom as the OpenGL has minimal issues for me nowadays.

And I do appreciate the efforts being done on QZDoom to not only fix the software renderer, and eventually bring a software-driven, 32-bit colourer renderer with dynamic lights and such.

Whilst I do not know Randi's reasons for this sudden yet in-the-making decision, I wish Randi the best all the same, and I wish Graf, dpJudas and Euranna, as well as current staff the best in continuing carrying the flaming skull into the night.

*salute*

I like the idea of having ZDoom.org being an umbrella for all things related to ZDoom's descendants.

I did read some discussion about keeping the forums and site for Zandronum separate, and I get why, considering the more multiplayer driven nature of the engine itself, both casual and competitive multiplayer too. But I feel better cross-community all-in-one-place documentation could help.

@Eruanna + Graf Zahl - This is where the hosting on my provider comes in handy: I have full control over things like that and there are almost no borders on what do change and achieve.

It's not only a cheap solution for ZDoom but also a straight one.

Trust him. He speaks the truth. If he wants to help that much, let him. It's not for nothing. I'm 99.99% sure you will not be disappointed. Speaking from first-hand experience here.

Slightly offtopic request... if we're going to upgrade these forums, can we have a dark, DRD-like skin? My eyes feel much more comfortable there TBH... XD

Maybe that's the reason. :D

Nah, I also like darker themes much better. Constantly staring at a bright screen is something really uncomfortable. Thank god Microsoft invented the dark theme for Visual Studio.

Doesn't ProSilver Dark work for you guys?

Eh, as long as I can keep my SubSilver2 I'll be happy. Or at least something with the same layout/widgets in mid-dark greys. I just can't seem to warm up to anything else.

I prefer the ZDoom theme myself... DRDTeam is just too dark, feels like working with the lights turned off. Also looks too much like a "terminal".

Hey, I have to work with musicians in the studio for several hours during the day! I can only ZDoom at night.

I can install a darker theme but I don't want to do like I did with DRD Team before the upgrade and put in hundreds of themes that barely anybody will use.

Just an additional DRDTeam preset would be enough for me. :D

Styles are not portable between 3.0.x and 3.1.x - I would have to remake it. And if I do, I am probably going to go with more of a ZDoom theme, anyway.

Well, if you're taking suggestions... I would adore a brightness-inverted version of SubSilver2 with the same layout and accent themes.

Or even a ZDoom-themed SubSilver2. Really almost anything as long as it's with the SubSilver2 layout. </shamelessbegging>
