Time stamp in posts

Post by Kappes Buur »

I noticed that the other day.
It seems the time stamp for the posts is off by 9 hours.

ie.: I posted at 19:41, the time stamp is 10:41 am.

Have you set the time zone in your profile? When you're logged in, the time shown is for the time zone in your profile, and when you're logged out, the time shown is for the server's time zone.

If your location really is Canada, then your time zone is negative, not positive. Positive is for Europe and Asia. I believe Vancouver is GMT-7.

I dunno nothing about America, but AFAIK it has 4 timezones, Eastern being -5, and -- AFAIK -- Vancouver is located somewhere in the west, it could be -9.

According to my handy-dandy clock in Windows, Vancouver is GMT-8. That's variable, though, since we're also on daylight savings time or something right now (so it alternates between GMT-8 and GMT-7, I think).

Also, dude, you're in Vancouver, too?!

EST (Eastern Standard Time) = GMT -5
EDT (Eastern Daylight-Savings Time) = GMT -4
CST (Central Standard Time) = GMT -6
CDT (Central DST) = GMT -5
MST (Mountain Standard Time) = GMT -7
MDT (Mountain DST) = GMT -6
Arizona = GMT -7 (The freaks don't believe in Daylight-Savings Time)
PST (Pacific Standard Time) = GMT -8
PDT (Pacific DST) = GMT -7

We're on Daylight-Savings Time right now, except for Arizona of course... Again, I say... Freaks.

Of course, not forgetting our two non-continental states, Alaska is GMT -9 (-8 for DST), while Hawaii is GMT -10 and, if Windows is to be trusted ^_^ they also don't follow DST. Hrm.
