I've heard the Imp death in Overlord as one of the minion death sounds.

Not all. Alot of it is still stock. Romero made a lot of sounds too. It isn't entirely NIN.Gendo wrote:don't forget that for Q1 all sfx and music were made by NINleileilol wrote:This is the ultimate origin of all of those Doom and Quake noises.
Re: DooM Sound Effects in Other Media
Nothing was made by NIN for Quake, Trent Reznor worked solo on that.

Jesus, why can't people look at the stupid date? Bah, well, there's really nothing wrong as long as the post is relevant, so I'll just cool it...
Re: DooM Sound Effects in Other Media
Here's an interesting one I just noticed about a minute ago that I'm not sure anyone has mentioned yet.
So you know in Metal Slug 3 on Level 2, when you turn into a zombie your grenade attack is replaced with a blood tsunami? Well, it turns out that the sound for that is very, very, very similar to one of the zombie-awake sounds in DooM II. I'm actually surprised I haven't noticed this before.

Ah, man. A Bit of Fry & Laurie. Oh of my favourites.Jimmy wrote:

Anyway, I think this is a good example of sounds that are easily replicated. That, I believe is the sound of a gong.

There is the start of a doom door in event horizon, near the beginning.

Oh, lookie, TV Tropes has an article about this:

Oh man, that's one of the few episodes I actually remember.Ceeb wrote:It's a little fuzzy, since I saw it years ago, but I think they were having this pretend adventure or something, they were all robots, and yeah.Sonnyboy wrote:What does a big door sound have to do with Rugrats?
Mein leben.
IIRC, Angelica was a robot, and they did something to 'kill' her, and as she went into her Death state ( ) I remember hearing the big door sound before she blew up, or collapsed or something. At the time, I was scared to death of Doom, and the bigdoor sound reminded me of the then-recent Doom escapades I had been scarred by. Stuff like turning around and finding yourself face-to-face with a pinky demon, which I found utterly terrifying (hell, I still jump a little when that happens to me.)
