Re: DooM Sound Effects in Other Media
I remember looking up a chicken pesto recipe on the web before, and I came upon a video of it and it had alot of little silly acting in it, and at one point I heard the imp death sound.
I don't remember what the guy's name was, but I know he's from that (american version?) iron chef show on tv (it's been a few years since so I don't know how valid this is now.)

Do you think the DSPISTOL sound is just a filtered version of a much more common gunshot noise that you would easily recognize if it sounded?
Re: DooM Sound Effects in Other Media
Spoiler:I'm pretty certain that I can hear the PSX doom pistol sound in the intro.

The people who did the English dub of Slayers seem to have been really fond of that one growl that was used in Heretic for the Weredragon sight/ambient growl sound. The growls in the Japanese version are different (and much more fitting) though.

Yes. The original has long been found as part of the aforementioned Sound Ideas collection. There's little-to-no editing of it for Doom.printz wrote:Do you think the DSPISTOL sound is just a filtered version of a much more common gunshot noise that you would easily recognize if it sounded?

I know that this post is old, but I just found this crazy video, where you can find many Doom sounds in other media
