Don't forget it'll be stretched vertically in-game.
I always forget about that, but the original titlemaps don't look this stretched outside the game, do they?

It depends on the port. It's not the case in ZDoom. You can have a 1600x1200 TITLEPIC without problems.

really not that bothered with these, its only a doodle i did in about half an hour, if anyone else wants to they can fix all the perspectives etc...

All of them look great, but I edited the DNF 1997 pistol a little to make an extra frame (your original could be the recoil)

Still the gun needs animations for the ejection and hammer moving, and a muzzle flash.

I need to edit part of the scope to be round on my frame.

That M16 indeed looks very natural -- the hand style meshes perfectly with the gun itself. Nice. :)

The pistol, though, isn't going to work particularly well because it's angled way too far. There's no way to make it not look like it's shooting to the left. :P

i'm surprised nobody's parodied that concept yet and made a spriteset with a pistol so angled that you are literally shooting at yourself when firing it.
