@The baron warrior thingy: It reminds me of Kano from Mortal Kombat. :P

There's a lot you could do with that Baron Warrior, like have it start using its shield at low health, or throwing it like a boomerang.
Would make a great miniboss or even boss.

Why do all the heavy weapons zombie marines have an eye shot out? :|

Probably to make it very clear that they're a zombie.

Unfortunately, the typical interpretation of "zombie" is "undead guy" rather than "mindless soulless guy".

What about a dim red glow where the eyes are, similar to the Doom Alpha zombie marines? (Less cartoony, though.)

Or maybe the Doom chaingunner's head is visible behind the visor?

So that you can't make the difference between them.

And yeah, they're supposed to be alive but possessed. As in, a skilled exorcist could "cure" them and they'd be okay dudes again. Doomguy isn't that kind of exorcist, though.

That, and if they had their eye shot out, a few more bullets in the chest probably wouldn't do anything.

Mainly because self-preservation is higher on the agenda.

Wait, those are shield straps?
ohhhh...
I honestly thought he was just wearing studded leather for BDSM-related reasons, as if to help illustrate the fact that you really do NOT want to get close to this thing.

In the game, each of these guys hold the same weapon.. A M-16 Assault Rifle. The thing is, each shoot it differently. One shoots in semi-auto mode, one in 3 round burst, and another in fully automatic (take a guess which ones do which).

Or employee. =/

Anyway, a possessed guy could stand in combat even with an eye destroyed, I think. (But, nowadays, every gray heavy weapon dudes makes me remember that one from LOS, hehe) :)
