I will be working on the frames later tomorrow. If you want you can have the blender files if you are comfortable with animating and blender in general. Otherwise just wait till I finish and I will send you the results.

I really like the suit of armor prop in Hexen so I broke it down into bits and tried putting it on top of existing player sprites like Cleric and Fighter. Unfortunately, the armor sprites are too big for them and I can't seem to get around the issue of directional lighting for the arm and leg segments of the armor. So here are broken bits for anyone interested.

I was working on something more techno-magick.

Spoiler:
For the modern gentleman... once again our esteemed brothers have harnessed - yet another mystical force! Presenting for your interest... The Shock Lance! The Thunderstone held tightly within it's core contains all the explosive power of an electrical storm, yet these energies are dispensed as a mere fraction! Defeat ruffians and other vermin with safe and controlled jolts of electricity! Astound rivals and onlookers alike!

Well, it was intended as an infinite melee weapon.
Do you mean angled like Quake 2 origin? The thrusting animation might be tricky.
