first one is needs to be slimmy, to fit with ammunition's size. so i rather choose the second one to go!PillowBlaster wrote:Not tooting my horn or anything, just a quick and still far from perfect sketching to show why it looks weird, and how it could look correctly.

Your sketch is still better than anything I could draw myself...PillowBlaster wrote:Not tooting my horn or anything, just a quick and still far from perfect sketching to show why it looks weird, and how it could look correctly.
I sorta changed its appearance a little
And here we see a toaster against some badly burned bread.
Anyone want to play "Spot the problems"?
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Does it have to be angled? Doom-style is centered.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
The frequency of posts claiming that the angle of that plasma-nader sprite is suitable for aiming forward is exorbitantly high and rather disconcerting.
The concept is cool, of course, and with some edits the posted sprite could work as a reload/idle frame or somesuch (though i'd change the position of the "magazine" in such a case). PillowBlaster's greybox (lower-right corner of his posted image) is much closer to something that'd make actual sense for an aiming+firing frame, in case anyone wants to take a crack at it.

I may as well post this here, even though it's shit.
Not touching it again, someone else can use it as a base if they want.

That medic marine looks sweet! Is there a full sheet somewhere around here or is it still WIP?Galaxy_Stranger wrote:I guess I should have posted this here:

Funny enough, I'm considering giving this a place in a certain project of mine as a plasma-mine launcher.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
No matter how much it reasonably shouldn't work, I actually really like the angled look on the weapon. It just needs a non-angled bit on the back. I hacked one on via PermaNoob's sketch:
Might be worth shrinking the Grenade loader as well, but that would require more time than I can reasonably apply today.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
i love those progresses and tributes for this such a good looking gun, but i still perfer the pillow's base; the gun goes straight direction and slightly different than doom's plasma rifle bit.
anyway what i want to say is, i hope pillow can give attention to it's already drawn base by him.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Not every gun has to be positioned in an accurate/realistic angle, especially futuristic guns that don't show the player's hands. Perhaps it could be designed to shoot at an angle, making aiming it easier or something (who needs an explanation, it's a plasma grenade launcher!).
Or maybe it could be a damaged weapon that is one of its kind because it was only a prototype. The demons got to it and tried to destroy it, but were only able to bend it a bit before Doomguy showed up.
I think the barrel flash and the weapon pickup sprite could use some work though.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
actually, yeah. that gun is not so bad bent look, but someone might could misunderstood that the player is grabbing it like that. not because this gun is actually looks like this. well, the good thing is kinsie fixed it, though.
another doom zone tribute, rsl's rifle just got fancier.

Love the textured back.
