anyone want to take a shot at making a wicked death for the caco :) ?

Still looks a bit too rigid. It's a great sprite. Would be a shame to not have it reach its full potential.
Is the rear part perhaps supposed to be some sort of spine? Could have it curl up a bit to increase the creepy factor, maybe have the "scales" flare up some too. Warm, meaty light from under the scales.
Might try to to do an edit later.

If it were meant as some sort of biological creature, I'd imagine it with a lamprey-like mouth on the underside of its body. The tentacles would be used to bring food to its maw, or perhaps to attach on a large prey on which it'd feed parasitically.

Speaking of them attached like parasite -- it'd be fun to see them working like headcrabs if there were a sufficiently large monster that could serve as a base.

It could flex and relax like a sort of lobster/prawn tail sort of structure. OK, I know that prawns are not the scariest monster in the sea but that's just the kind of action I thought might work. It would be much scarier on this beast.

That makes sense to me (guessing at a possible mouth location, I thought much the same thing).

Of course, if it's a mystical, magical kind of beast, then it could feed on psychic energy or whatever other nonsense valid explanation I (or anyone else) could come up with.

I suggested a list of possible names to replace the unfitting "Orb Monster" on the Monster naming thread:
For the Cacodemon, here are a few names:

*Cyclops
*Flier
*Drone
*Insect
*Cyclopean flier
*Cyclopean drone
*Cyclopean insect

Or even:

which, I think is probably the origin of the Pokemon's name (I don't really know (or care) much about Pokemon :P ).

i was hoping we could use vaders terminator for freedoom but because it uses the baron as a base that is not going to be possible, so ive decided to try and recreate it from scratch, ovbiously i will never be able to match vaders quality, but hopefully i can put something acceptable together, here is a first attempt

it will attack by shooting from its chest

Ooohhhh, I like. I like very much. The Terminator is a classic and this is an obvious relative (at least the technology it is fitted with looks related). Very nice.
