did big rocket ammo and small nail "clip" too...

figured that the standard doom small rocket and shell ammo pickups would be fine as is though!

You know, I would love to help out with a ZDoom-Kart racing mod. Maybe it could be the next big community project? :)

I think the main hurdle is that it would have to be multiplayer-centric, and ZDoom is primarily a single player focused group.

The Doom Kart's camera system would be like SRB2's. On a side note, items/powerups should include the BFG9000.

Me too. Only thing is, my ACS knowledge is limited, but I could contribute maps and sprites.

As for multiplayer-centric, that would be fine by me. Most of the solo fun I had in oldskool Mario Kart was in the Time Trial mode.

And, of course, Battle Mode would be a given. Might even be able to get bots to play that, who knows?

Weapon-wise, I'd say keep the MK item box format in terms of pickups, but use Doom's arsenal as the actual weapons (artistic licence is permitted here). The BFG9000 could be the equivalent of MK's lightning bolt, Imp fireball = green shell, Revenant tracer = red shell, etc. However, players would still have HP like in Doom, thus paving the way for items like rockets and limited plasma cells. So, a bit like WipEout, too.

Maybe as a homage to Carmageddon, have enemies in some levels to run over and splatter them like in Brutal Doom. BTW, this karting idea should probably get a thread of its own since we're talking pages about it.

Speaking of Doom Kart... I have a bunch of sprites from a long dead Doom Kart project. If anyone wants them for a serious attempt at a Doom Kart mod, or for whatever (seems like the right place to post them).

I only have Doomguy, Imp, Caco, Lost Soul, and CyberDemon done (and don't really intend on doing any others) but there you have it. Doomguys and Cyberdemons wheels don't spin either I believe, but that's a simple fix.

I could help with sprites and maps. I remember that there was a F-Zero doom for zandronum a long time ago, it worked well, so making a mario kart game in doom is possible
