Well, the idea is to shoot a wide horizontal "line" of plasma that cuts through enemies and can clear corridors of weak monsters, so, supposedly a BFG equivalent weapon.
I guess it may be a little too big, even for a slot 7 weapon. I'll probably edit that narrow section out and make it shorter, so it doesn't take up half of the screen, but I plan to keep it as wide as it currently is.

I'm meaning that the sprite itself is entirely too large to be displayed on the screen in 320x200 resolution, intentions aside. You're going to have to do something about the size, as it currently looks like this in-game:

Huh. I haven't considered that.
I just tested it a bit, looks like I'll have to rework the proportions of the whole thing (the "bow" needs to be 40% smaller, and the grip and base need to remain the same so the hands don't looks tiny).
Good thing I still have all the fire animation frames split into layers.

I'll post some more progress later.

Edit:

Scaled it down, made it symmetrical and added/changed some details. I think this is it and I'm ready to animate, but if anyone else has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Also, I made an ammo pickup for the Line Pack ammunition that it'll be using.

The larger version of the bow would make an awesome view of some kind of hover bike vehicle.

Every time I try to make a rocket launcher, I end up making something else.

This might work as a small laser gun.

To me, it looks like some kind of flamethrower.

It's still 450 wide which means it won't fit on a non-widescreen resolution without further scaling. You may, or may not, consider that a problem.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

The weapon without the blades extending from the sides is ~300 pixels, so the only thing non-widescreen players will be missing are the sharp edges of the weapon. I guess it is a bit of a shame, but I don't think missing out the sharp edges on non-widescreens is worse than making it universally smaller for everyone.

been playing around for ages now trying to make a decent falling forwards imp altdeath that kinda matched the forward marine and zombie death anims.

I am aware of some others (davidG's etc...) but they tent to fall straight forwards in a very wolf3d/sod style. this to me is great but doesn't exactly fit doom right.

well tweaking of the guts-out imp of brutaldoom has yielded much better results this time:please feel free to use and edit...

not sure if this has been done similarly but i'd love to know if it has! it'd would probably be much better than mine!
anyone know of any other imp (or other for that matter) altdeaths aside from the "its nature to die" david g thread?

now that's seems natural so much without cyan background, but it's doesn't need to remake. it's okay enough.
