I never noticed that until now. I will try to fix it later. Thanks Slax.Slax wrote:Whole thing's got a lot of problems. The cylinder should be in the middle of the gun, don't you think? Looks like it's been cut in half and welded onto the side.Carbine Dioxide wrote:A little more work on the hammer. I can't get it right, can some one help? It just seems the hammer is wrong, but I can't figure out how to fix it.

Since you're not tracing 3d model (which is the best way to do it) here's some basic tips. Make sure your sprite has properly traced mid screen point lines, to match up perspective at least partiallyCarbine Dioxide wrote:I never noticed that until now. I will try to fix it later. THEN you make basic adjustments to aliasing obviously.
Also -start with simple definied palette - you can always make midcolors out of it later. (here's dirty edit, just to show possibilities)

Dude, kudos, this looks less like idsoftware work and more like westwood studios artwork. Nice touch.PermaNoob wrote:

I really like that imp, you're doing a good work with it.
(Note: The D3 imp seemed a lighter shade of gray to me, but whatever, anyone could change it with translation.)

Good job IMX. Recently I made a wad for personal use compiling everything Doom 3-related and replacing the original content with them. I could use your sprites when they're done.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Yeah, it was a lighter grey, kinda like a mix between yours and a light shade. Not too much. Great work nonetheless.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
That's true but it's not ideal to use translation to make it brighter, it would look better if it was lighter to begin with and then translated darker. There are less colours in the Doom palette for dark greys but there are lots of mid-range greys. If the dark colours are boosted to mids by means of translation it will look stepped or posterized, or in other words lower colour.HazeBandicoot wrote:(...) anyone could change it with translation.
Left, a gradient has been posterized to 16 levels. Right, a gradient has been darkened, posterized to 16 levels, and brightened.
Hopefully IMX is working without a palette so it all can be run through Curves or something in Photoshop / Gimp before paletting.
