We say how ridiculous such comments are because the community itself is self-moderating on this issue.Enjay wrote:Funny how the default position in this community is that when some politician or whatever says "video games are murder simulators, make people behave more violently and cause school shootings" we get all pissy, say how ridiculous such comments are and we go on about how people know the difference between game violence and the real-world violence. However, make a sprite of a space marine hitting a cartoony-looking German shepherd and we go all Jack Thompson ourselves.

I find fatalities and all the sadistic content in Brutal Doom extremely... unneccessary. In Brutal Doom the protagonist himself needs bullet therapy more than any of the demons, because he becomes one and single bloodthirsty outaging freak in the whole game. When I play normal Doom, I am on player's side. When I see someone playing Brutal Doom... I am on the other side.Blox wrote:kicking down an imp with its guts spilled and various other horrible ways to go are completely ok
What for the dog murder animation... Dogs from Wolfenstein are annoying as hell, so I don't feel myself cruel when I am shooting them. But clubbing a dog to death is craps.
This sprite can easily be used though if the dog killed is an enemy. Like Hellhounds from Doom RPG.
Or if the guy who kills the dog is the one you wanna kill during the gameplay.
...this sprite is not very useful after all.

Well here's holding the bag, what he'll actually do with it is up to you and the hands you supplyUboa wrote:*requests*
The dithering isn't that great, the Doom palette doesn't have that many usable yellows.
DISCLAIMER : I in no way recommend people run around with bags of hazardous waste in real life.

I'll have to make that hand widescreen-friendly, because that just irks me.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Tried this in game. It does indeed look a lot better IMO. As well as looking a bit more like the intended breed, the Wolfenstein blocked colours being replaced with a dirtier/more dithered look works better in Doom than the untouched Wolfenstein sprites.Chickenlegz wrote:Enhanced MBF Dog/Marine Dog.

Dammit guys, I'm gone for one day, ONE DAY, and I come back to a discussion about murdering dogs.

Made another alternate death for the guard.
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Perhaps you should make the arm a separate sprite.Sgt. Shivers wrote:Made another alternate death for the guard.

I was planning on making it work for ECWOLF so I made it fit into 64 by 64 sprites.
Heres the sheet if you want to make the arm seperate.-

Not to be critical but I think it would look more natural if the arm only became parallel to the floor once it hits the ground. That way the hand would hit first and then fall over.
