Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Working on something a bit different from my main project to satisfy a mapping itch that's gotten out of hand.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
Those condiments may be a bit strong for me
I can't make very good weapons, so far, but I can definitely over-animate their select and de-select motions. As far as I can determine there is no way to make the game scale down higher resolution player weapon sprites, but feel free to inform me if that is no longer the case!

Oh crap so that bun fella's actually a weapon! Also it's always nice to see your smooth and artistic animation.

Thank you! If I accomplish nothing else i want this disaster to be interesting to look at. Now it is fun to stand around and pointlessly switch between armaments for a moment, which was not the case previously.
Since the purple creatures in the levels exploded anyway it seemed logical that they could be applied more aggressively.

That is no longer the case. In fact, it hasn't been for some time.bimshwel wrote:As far as I can determine there is no way to make the game scale down higher resolution player weapon sprites, but feel free to inform me if that is no longer the case!
You can define your sprites in the textures lump and scale them there or put low res versions in as sprites (as normal) and drop the high res ones (using the same name) into a HiRes folder and they will automatically get mapped to the dimensions and offsets of the small one.
I think that there is another method but I don't recall the details.

I really like this. I don't know why. But I just really do.nova++ wrote:Working on something a bit different from my main project to satisfy a mapping itch that's gotten out of hand.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
thank you for the update! it is often difficult to know what features exist and how to use them without asking, since they can get implemented in an inconsistent manner and I do not have a great amount of time to download and play a lot of video games and add-ons like I once did, so to become conscious of new features and their syntax via seeing them used.Enjay wrote:That is no longer the case. you know, I would have said its about time we saw a true classic looking wizard for heretic/hexen but then again, A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives presicely when he means to...Craneo wrote:

I can just see him now, telling cyberdemons and maulotaurs that they cannot pass...
outstanding work on this...
Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
It now occurs to me that I do not think I have ever seen a Merlin-style wizard in a doom-type game setting prior to this point. Although it has been established that I miss a lot! Those two appear to go well together. The heretic gargoyle is still one of my favorite monsters so it makes sense that i would like other monsters based on it.

I sort of made this from a sketchfab staff i found for a project as a free will gesture - not anything exclusive. It's been a hot minute since i did any spritework.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
I took that one machete that GAA1992 made some time ago and decided to experiment with it for a project I'm working on with a friend.
I liked that one skeleton glove hands someone made, but there weren't enough frames so I made new ones. And since I couldn't find denim sleeves sprites anywhere, I made ones with pics of my own sleeves lmao. Adapt and survive, I guess. Due to proportions this is probably gonna be just a big knife though. Can't be arsed to make new ones right now.
This is an early design test for the most part, but it's coming along nicely.

Re: [SPRITES] Spriting Carnival!!
it is definitely unorthodox combat attire for space marines so I am not surprised you couldn't find existing sprites but whatever you did seems to be working.
