The pose is intended to be a bit lean forward. But since I was not sure about the gun, I left the arms loose. The marine overall will be little lean forward to give him more combat appearance. Yes there are influences from doom3 marine, and other various scifi troopers. And the shoulderpads are WIP. They are influenced by warhammer 40.k marine pads, which are large. They are intended to be large. Im planning to make the other pad smaller. So that while marine is firing the larger pad gives him "protection" and probably will have UAC insignia on it. :) And what comes to the kneepads, I will make them more square like, and maybe add 4 bolts on the edges. Cuz I have room for makin him a bit wider and taller while I have tested it as a static pic in my levels.

You've certainly managed something a little reminiscent of 40K Space Marines™ in the helmet/shoulder size and position.

Well, it's effect by Paint.net. Photoshop can't help me with this.

I think, more importantly, it doesn't really look like it is gripping the handle.

This one does:

but the other one looks like a hand in a non gripping position that has been laid on top of the handle.

I like the recolouring though - and the animated hands.

While I'm at it, I can't count how many times I have seen the Doomguy clenched fist used, usually with a shotgun shell poking out of the bottom, to simulate the Doomguy holding some ammo for a reload. It simply doesn't look like he's holding it. It looks exactly like what it is: a clenched fist pasted over the top of a shell. I don't know of anyone, except maybe people who have severe arthritis or some other disability affecting how well their fingers can grip, who would hold something the shape of a shotgun shell like that. Even if they did, the volume of the shell would still cause the hand to not be in a perfect fist shape. I know that drawing hands is not an easy task but I've seen this particular graphic and variations of it used over and over and over (I may have even used it myself) and it never looks like the Doomguy is actually holding the ammo. There must be someone out there who can make a hand holding ammo that actually looks like it might be doing what it is supposed to be doing.

Really? The other two sprites that you posted in the same post both look as if they are gripping the weapon properly. Either a bit of resizing of the gripping Strife hand or perhaps "frankenspriting" part of the Doom hand on to the Strife one might be all it needs.

I have tried it before post this. It's not easy to work with sizes and other properties. I have tried to use this hand, but it's impossible to reconcile with the handle of a flamethrower. Need to redraw this. I am not really good at this.
