Tough wads? Plutinoa is quite tough, but for a real challenge go to http://www.freewebs.com/lexus_nexus, look for the mythical ROTGS, there you will find mighty challeng, Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

Equinox is a very good challenge, also, try Enjays levels, such as his marine assult (damn my poor brain, forgot what the file was called). Dark7 was quite challenging, and had cool music. The Momento Mori TC's were cool, and so was Requiem. Biowar is also cool. I think you will find good challenges in these wads, plus they are IMHO very good :-). Enjoy...

Oh, cus i'm so kind I'll give you links :-D

Alien Vendetta: (you will like, very good challenge) http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=11790

Biowar: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=10482

Requiem: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=8194

Strain (Sereously cool TC): http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=8467

Dark 7: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=11772

Vrack 2 (This is right up your street, loads of monsters! Loads of fun, VERY hard :-D) http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=11438

And I'll end it with Cybs cool zort series, the finale is the best, very hard and has all the great Zdoom scripting, plus the music suits it to a T: http://www.doomworld.com/idgames/index.php?id=11849

I'll apologise for taking the mickey earlier, this is my apology, and if you don't enjoy at least one of those you can hate me for the rest of your life ;-)

You can't have played ALL of those wads in that short time space (roughly 3 hours... man I have too much time on my hands :-D).

You have to take it in context. If you just want hard, do this:

Open up your favorite editor.

Start a new map (E1M1 or MAP01).

Create one sector 512x512 units square.

Set the sector's ceiling height to 256, leave the floor height at 0.

Near one wall of the sector, place a Player 1 start. Face it away from the wall.

Against the other wall, place 3 cyberdemons far enough away from the walls and each other that they won't get stuck. Face them inward towards the player start.

Save the WAD (No node-building necessary!!! Bonus!!!) and launch it in ZDoom.

Enjoy.

And hey, if you want you can even upload it to the id archives! Now you can proudly say you made the hardest level in teh world!!! Everyone will love you!!!

For even MORE enjoyment and difficulty, try these variations:

- Double the number of cyberdemons.
- Set the light level to 0.
- Replace the cyberdemons with spider masterminds.
- Use ACS scripting to make the sector's ceiling crush down from an open script.
- Set the sector's type to "10% damage until near death, then exit". Now even cheating won't save the player!!! (of course, you don't actually DIE... hmmm... perhaps use the above variation on the next map to ensure a swift death.)
- Fill the sector with environment suits (they won't do a damn thing, but it'll sure be a funny practical joke!!)
- Fill the sector with rocket boxes, but no launcher! YES!

And finally, for the coup de gracie...

- Fill the sector with barrels.

No, face the player start against the wall, and build a script that removes the players pistol on startup.... and freezes him.
