Mmh well good question, I noticed on Skyrim that majority of actors involved with skybox etc etc are entities and shaders, but it seems a bit different with Oblivion and Morrowind: this is the "atmosphere" skybox for TeS3 atm, with clouds, moon and night stuff.

[EDIT]: Aaaand it's done for nighty skybox, not perfect since nebulaes are pixelated but should work as is with some little adjustments. No way to merge pieces as .md3, I think there is something that I am not aware with tris and vertices here.

Added 9 new skyboxes from Morrowind and then also a new model from Amnesia.
Unfortunately the "atmosphere" model from Morrowind is of no use since it uses gradients to change color accordingly to weather transitions.

Thanks Ozy. I was actually curious about how the skybox was built in Morrowind. I built my own custom one in Blender (basically just a half sphere with tiling UV) but my creation doesn't look as good as MW's. :P I wanted to study how its mesh was built.

Little bump to inform all of you that I have updated the repository a while ago adding the Bone Dragon, and from today I'll scale skins to not haul the engine (will do for others already present - Alduin has 2048x2048 skin, and I'll turn it 512x512 for example)
