  • If no to the previous one, did I put a reasonable amount of work into the resource myself, such that the changes are noticeably different from the source that I could take credit for them?

[RESOURCE] Soldier of Fortune 2 model pack

Post by WARCHILD_89 »

Directly taken from the game CD.

Added basic MODELDEF AND DECORATE.

USE und EDIT AS YOU PLEASE!

You can ask questions,too.

INSTRUCTIONS:

download and unzip, then use PK3.
Model showcase map included and optional.

NOTE: In GZDOOMBUILDER most models do not have their textures rendered because their skin is not defined in MODELDEF. Defining them is obsolete because the models find their skins by themselves(hardcoded into the md3 file?).
As soon as you play a map, they work totally fine. At the beginning I did not know that.

in my doom nemesis video there is also a showcase map shown towards the end of the video: http://www.moddb.com/members/na4171162/videos

That's because GZDoomBuilder does not recognized the textures, that was a GZDoomBuilder issue back then

I think I know the answer:

I realized that if you keep the original folder path structure intact inyour PK3 (e.g.: path "models/mapobjects/Pinetree"), the .md3 models know their skin path by themselves and defining their skin in MODELDEF becomes obsolete.

in return you have models missing skins only in doombuilder but not in the game.

The models in the pk3 don't show in the editor at all with the decorate file provided. I loaded the sample map in the editor, and it shows red circles with a question mark, but no models.
