Less mean-spirited Keen replacement (needs A LOT of polish)
I am very new to Slade, and one of the first things I thought I'd try with it is respriting Commander Keen's cameo so that the rope's now around his wrists and instead of falling apart he breaks free and sits down to read a book. This is the result, and it's kind of an embarassment so I was hoping people could provide suggestions/touchups. Here's a preview of all the frames, the credit for which goes to Dolphman at TSR:

kinda feels like what the keen sprites would look like on a censored version of doom

This is pretty cool. I like these a lot more than the vanilla sprites.

Well, you still shoot him to do that.angrymerc29 wrote:i like it

The implication is clearly that you're shooting the rope, not him.

I updated it with a better understanding of offsets, so now the rope shouldn't jitter about all over the place but a number of things about the animation still feel pretty sloppy to me. Because of how Google Drive works, the exact same link in the first post will now give you the new one.

I like this!
The timing of the frames would probably make a big difference in how natural it looks.

Hey these are pretty nice looking. I never liked the idea of killing a hung keen anyway, these are more light spirited and make more sense.
