Better?

Christ, Blox. Thanks a lot! :D The actual needle hand should be done next. I might get on that soon.

EDIT: Hyperlinked for size. Enjoy.

Am I the only one who sees the thumb as being bent unnaturally?

Uboa's edit looks like it's curved, and blox's looks like the joint is in the wrong place.

And neither compared their art style to that of the Doom hands.

Mine's a Franken-hand of Doom parts, if that counts.

Oh yeah, I can tell. I guess Blox has his own style then.

What's with the negativity? Blox's edit looks pretty darn good to me -- The veins on the wrist are a bit too sharp but overall it has nice contrast and just the right level of detail.

The reason the thumb is like that is because it's a glove - not a bare hand. And not a particularly thin glove. (Edit: Blargh, also because I failed to push it a bit further out.)
So a thumb as thin as that (Looking at Uboa's) - and gloved too, must be really damn thin!

As for the joint, I'll fix that later. (Gotta go!)

Edit: Uh, something:

I took this fist here, and used an edited image of real brass knuckles.
It came out pretty crappy.

That looks better, I think. Should I add that hand to the sheet? Do you have a separate layer for the hand, or should I just crop it out by hand?

Personally I think it still has too much of the source material's "grittiness". (The primary reason Blood Sprites + DooM = un-cool.)
