Re: trees! grass! and bushes!
Like um, wind-blown grass and trees? It is possible, but not easy. So far I have wind-blown autumn leaves, but for some time, I was also thinkin' about giving some animation to the foliages.
Re: trees! grass! and bushes!
Hand drawing grass animation would probably take a crapton of frames though... those things tend to move slooooooooooooooooooooooow in real 3D games...

Re: trees! grass! and bushes!
I will not be animating them, at all... doesn't fit my brief...

Re: trees! grass! and bushes!
Well, just personally if it were me, I'd use the A_Rotate function combined with some kind of sine/cosine and user variables to just gently rock the sprite back and forth within a certain range. Could that work?
Re: trees! grass! and bushes!
Well i was thinking of 3 or 4 sprites with interpolation of the last ones to make it look in motion nothing too serious but is ok

and yet another gift: a texture-tile version of the bush sprites so you can use it with the grass1 and grass2 textures to make heavier undergrowth on walls or floors or use as both a texture and a flat to make full 3d hedges!, I've seen this done in sof (the germany maps) and I thought it looked quite nice so have at it...
yes; yes I can not keen myself but someone might be (hopefully cmw1986), so there it is...cmw1986 wrote:Hello again,
Can you please add a whole bunch of leaves to the All-In-One Big Tree you made for me?.
Thanks again,

Absolutely loving this doom styled outdoors stuff!
I've always tried to make my own, but they never turned out well.

fire! in the disco?
ok. quite a simple edit-job really but very effective imho!
my reasons were to create an alternative version to the highly overused (though still rather nice) duke3d flame.
sometimes its just nice to have stuff in the doom style...
* you may have seen these before...
these floor-flame frames are based on the flamecan sprites and can be used as three separate sized flames or together to create rubbish flickery effect. or use them in sequence to make a flame grow or shrink accordingly... (though that would be achiveable with the setscale decorate function so kinda unnecessary) I use them on my explodable firecans* to leave the flame behind as a blocking object so as not to wreck those maps that use the flamey barrels as a blocking feature...my reasons were to create an alternative version to the highly overused (though still rather nice) duke3d flame.

These are all really awesome. You can never have too many Doom-styled outdoors stuff.

These are indeed fantastic flames. I have no idea where I'll use them, but I'll use them eventually.

duke cans for doom
uac use gas cans too...
recoloured duke's c9 canisters to propane red (because it looks nicer in the doom pallete) and removed the stripes and sticker as i felt it made it more doom and less duke...
goes well with this: http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f= ... 68#p783194
