I find the design of it very cool, but the angle seems wrong. I think it should more point at the center.

I don't think it's a good way, but i didn't want to redraw it again from zero, so i modelled it in max, textured and rendered. But all the animations will be drawn manually, without render...
Here's the first result:

I don't know why but I feel as if the right hand should be on that thing on the middle of the gun that looks like a magazine.

If it's a rendered model now, then you really should work a bit on making the angle not so extreme while you still can. As Timmy pointed out, it's a neat design conceptually, but it's positioned such that Doomguy's going to have a hard time shooting at anything that's not to his left. :P

Unless you're going for one of those weird Strife Assault Gun-esque "un-ready" frames.

Do you ever get that feeling when a weapon isn't at *just* the right angle? Sometimes it looks like he's just pointing his firearm at something off to the side. The handgun looks great, however. :P

It looked okay for a concept sprite, but it doesn't really stand a chance against something that looks like this:

As for why, then one obvious flaw is that the lighting has "seams" that clearly indicate the different surfaces the model consists of - instead of having a constant flow.
And the big killer would be that it simply looks too plain and without any kind of quirks, details or even interesting shading.
