Is there any wad/pk3 with the sounds of that Doom3 'possessing lost souls'? The one that appears at the beginning of the invasion? I know how to rip Doom3 stuff, but I'll have to search in aaaaall directories, so I tough if maybe someone could have made it before...
Or, if someone has looked at the directories before, could say where are that sounds?
Thanks in advanced.

Re: D3 'possessing lost souls' sounds?
You wouldn't have to search through all of the directories. The Doom 3 engine equivalent to SndInfo is the .sndshd (sound shader) files in the /sounds directory. They open like ordinary text files and have the filenames and locations of the sounds in question. That seems like it would be a level-specific thing, so look for the sound shader for the level in question.

Thanks a lot! I'm gonna do that!
Re: D3 'possessing lost souls' sounds?
I would open the Mars City Underground map and go to that area where a skull ghost appears, which is beyond the fancy drawbridge (the one with a NPC you can startle). I'll see the skull ghost model and a wireframe arrow pointing to it. Follow the arrow back to the trigger and see if the trigger also has an arrow that leads to a "speaker". That speaker may hold the sound you were looking for. I might look myself for it later and post the exact names.

Hum... I never opened D3 maps, i just opened some of that compressed files and 'pook around' (is it right? o.õ) looking what was the inner files. What program do you use for open maps?

id Tech 4 comes with a internal map editor, Ravick.
so just type "editor" (by what i remeber that is the cmd) in console while you are with the game opened

Sorry that I forgot
I've looked now at that particular lost soul (who fortunately can be seen from the overhead map if you know where to look, because otherwise it's a pain). It uses a mix of sounds (from pak003.pk4):
sound/levels/mc_underground/invasion/hellblast.wav (or .ogg?)
sound/xian/unsettling/st_seventhday_03.wav (or .ogg?)

Re: D3 'possessing lost souls' sounds?
the sound that he is looking for is st_seventhday_03.ogg
i checked here and looks like more a constant "choir" than a lost soul scream

From the method I said, I also found "sound/levels/mc_underground/invasion/poltergeist" (two of them) in about 30 seconds of looking through an easy text file.printz wrote:I've looked now at that particular lost soul (who fortunately can be seen from the overhead map if you know where to look, because otherwise it's a pain).
